Blended Impact Converts to Benefit Corporation

In the United States, a benefit corporation is a type of for-profit corporate entity, authorized by 35 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, that includes a positive impact on society, workers, the community, and the environment in addition to profit as its legally defined goals. We elected to convert our corporate structure into a benefit corporation to promote economic opportunity beyond job creation in the course of our work.

With this conversion we have committed to:

  • perform our duties in good faith in the best interests of the corporation, our shareholders, stakeholder interests of our employees, customers, ability to accomplish our public benefit purposes, and other interests

  • measure our overall social and environmental performance against a third-party standard, though the third-party standard does not need to independently certify our organization

  • produce an “annual benefit report”, which may be included in our annual reports, outlining our performance in accomplishing our public benefit goals
